And there I was, right in the middle of a DELICIOUS Honduran melon!

At work, a 1978 Dodge pickup that looked a whole lot like this Ford was parked inside the breezeway when I walked up. Only, to make things better it had a perfectly matching topper on it, and the big vintage dodge ram hood ornament. It also had a huge motorized winch on a beefed up front bumper, and a big add-on rear bumper that doubled as a tool chest. The owner was inside, and because it was so pretty and in perfect condition everyone was standing around it when she came out.
Now I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but an 80 year old woman with a sharp tongue was not at the top of the list. She starts laying into one of the guys who was touching the hood as soon as she comes out the door. "hey buddy, get off my paint huh? whaddaya think your doin'?" "pretty darn nice, eh?" (appreciative nods all around) "well, thats cause I take care of it myself!"
Then she starts talking about the engine and I get lost picturing this five-foot-three woman clambering into the cab and tearing off to wherever she is going, driving all the way home over the tops of Toyota Priusis.

Some poor fool abandoned this and two of its relatives in a shed by where I work. Mine now. Next to the shed, and also free, was a pile of tires, a few bikes, a car dashboard, and an apartment full of nasty furniture and garbage. This probably had the highest value-to-weight ratio.
I had two of these when I was a kid. I'm gonna bring the CB radio craze back, forget cell phones. When you see kids walking around with these on their belt, six foot antenna extended, think of me.
You can even text message, and it doesn't cost you a thing. Just have to do it in morse...

Springtime. For all my homies shivering in the midwest and elsewhere- It's blowing your way, it just might take a moment.
I have this vague memory from some children's book that was read to me that ends with ferns uncurling out of the ground. At least I think I have a memory. It's a little hard to tell sometimes.

"If I had my way, I woulda been a killer, okay? Thats true. I woulda had guns, and I woulda gone to the south, and I woulda given em violence for violence, shotgun for shotgun . . . but my husband told me i didnt know anything about guns, and he refused to teach me. And the only thing I had was music."
