pieBAMA!

My neighbor has submitted a pie for the (second?) annual pie calendar. Being the only member of the pie calendar contributers living in the U.S., she was told to thematically tie her pie into our momentous election.

Luckily, President-Elect Obama and Molly knit together every friday, and she happened to have a picture laying around. I give you....January!

Maybe its because I'm spending more time outside than usual, but I've been catching a lot of crazy sunrises/sunsets that span blue to red like its nothing. I swear I didn't even do anything much to the colors here, just adjusted the white point. Well... I punched up the blue juuust a liittle in the gaps in those clouds.

This is what it looks like when I have free wood to get home from work. I'm going to build a table....

In this picture: Luke, Wizard island, and Luke's invisible wizard hat.
I thought Oregon would be a let-down after northern California, but this area was full of valleys, weird mesas, farm fields, and this mountain that may or may not have been Mt. Hood. I just pretended we were very, very fast hobbits on our way to throw a ring in the volcano. Very fast hobbits.

I probably should have turned around and taken a picture of the glorious crashing surf behind me, but this is alright too.

This one-lane bit of blacktop was fantastic. It took us off the highway, up along a ridgeline, and deposited us a mile up our original road after a 20 mile loop. Or at least that what the plan was before we got lost...

There were four of us on the trip. Harper, Luke, Myself, and John Jameson.

Soul music so good it makes you want to clean your apartment. Sounds like something from 1975 you found in a mildewy crate from the basement... only it's not old, and it was released earlier this month.

Take one of these

Sorry for that last one. It was a little too much. Listen to this, it will make everything a better-ish, promise.

The old version I had up here disappeared, so here is the live one. Is it wrong that I love bands like Debarge?

Just got this film back that went through my Kodak Medalist. Because I am too cheap to get scans made with the development, I hold the negatives up in front of a white wall, point my camera at them and take a picture, reversing the colors in Photoshop. This actually works surprisingly well, which isn't to say it makes very high quality images, but there are two schools of thought right? Some say "life is short- drink good beer", while others make the point that "bad beer is better than no beer". I drink PBR unless the High Life is on special.

RUCKUS!

This is real, and it sounds like a fantastic idea. To me, at least.

I like taking pictures of people. Sometimes I forget how much, and then a shot like this comes along.
